# Supported formats

Transmutr accepts 3D models, texture images, ZIP archives, and folders.

## 3D models

<table><thead><tr><th width="326">Extension</th><th>Notes</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><code>.skp</code></td><td>SketchUp models</td></tr><tr><td><code>.fbx</code></td><td>Autodesk FBX</td></tr><tr><td><code>.obj</code></td><td>Wavefront OBJ</td></tr><tr><td><code>.gltf</code> / <code>.glb</code></td><td>glTF 2.0</td></tr><tr><td><code>.usd</code> / <code>.usda</code> / <code>.usdc</code> / <code>.usdz</code></td><td>Universal Scene Description</td></tr><tr><td><code>.dae</code></td><td>Collada</td></tr><tr><td><code>.3ds</code></td><td>3D Studio</td></tr><tr><td><code>.stl</code></td><td>Stereolithography</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Images (materials)

Use these when converting **materials only** or when assigning maps in the Materials tab:

`.png`, `.jpg` / `.jpeg`, `.bmp`, `.gif`, `.tif` / `.tiff`, `.tga`, `.dds`, `.hdr`, `.exr`

## Archives and folders

<table><thead><tr><th width="153">Input</th><th>Behavior</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><code>.zip</code></td><td>Transmutr extracts the archive and loads models (and textures) inside. Nested ZIPs are supported.</td></tr><tr><td>Folder</td><td>With <strong>Transmutr Studio/Creator</strong>, dropping a folder loads every nested model into separate tabs.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
Only ZIP archives are supported. RAR, 7z, and similar formats are not.
{% endhint %}

## Creator-specific packages

Some marketplaces ship assets in packs that need a special import path (for example ambientCG `.mtlx` materials). Prefer the **Content creators** menu so Transmutr applies the right import hints.

## Export format

Transmutr always exports **SketchUp `.skp`** files. The SketchUp version of the output is chosen in **Options**. Optional sidecar files are created when you enable **proxies** (V-Ray `.vrmesh`, Enscape assets, copied texture maps).
